Over 6 Million Students Head Back to School for New Academic Year

With the end of summer break, over 6 million students across Saudi Arabia returned to more than 30,000 public, private, international, and foreign schools for the start of the new academic year.

This first semester of the academic year 1446 will conclude on November 7th. The second semester will begin on November 17th and run through February 20th, 2025. The third and final semester will start on March 2nd, 2025, and continue until June 26th.

This year marks the introduction of Chinese language classes in a select number of intermediate schools as part of a new initiative. The program will assess progress throughout the year, with plans to expand Chinese instruction to a third of high school students by 2029.
