Pokémon Go is Finally Coming to Saudi Arabia on November 8th
After a years-long ban on Niantic's popular AR game, Pokémon Go is about to make its Saudi debut in Riyadh’s Boulevard City.
For all you Saudi trainers looking to make a name for yourself as a Pokémon Master, it’s time to grab your smartphones and mark your calendars for November 8th. Pokémon Go - the hit augmented reality game by Niantic - is finally making its debut in Saudi Arabia and the GCC with a special event in Riyadh’s Boulevard City.
Based on the famous Nintendo property, Pokémon Go first launched globally throughout 2016, proving popular with its interactive elements and community events, while using AR to let players explore, catch Pokémon and challenge each other through the smartphone cameras and across real-world locations. The app, however, was banned in Saudi Arabia at the time, due to a 2001 edict against the cartoon monster franchise.
The launch event is part of Riyadh Season. Tickets can be purchased on the WeBook website.
