Remote Work For Government Employees Approved in the UAE

Remote work for government entities to work from outside the country was approved in the UAE. This step allows the UAE to harness global talent to carry out specific tasks, complete projects, and conduct studies essential to government operations.

While remote work has been in place for federal entities within the UAE since 2017, this marks the first time the system has been extended to employees based abroad.

Authorities will identify specific jobs that can be performed remotely from outside the UAE, and will set out the necessary conditions and responsibilities for contracted employees.
