Saudi Arabia & US Sign Strategic AI Partnership

Saudi Arabia and the United States signed the Strategic Artificial Intelligence Partnership in Washington, with Minister of Foreign Affairs Prince Faisal bin Farhan and US Secretary of State Marco Rubio officiating.

The signing took place on the sidelines of Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman’s state visit to the White House, where he met US President Donald Trump and senior officials. Prince Faisal and Rubio affirmed the partnership as a historic step that established a new milestone in the strategic relationship between the two countries.

The Strategic AI Partnership is designed to capitalise on Saudi Arabia’s advantages in land, energy and geography to develop technology clusters that meet local, regional and global demand for artificial intelligence and cloud computing services, while leveraging the United States technology ecosystem for economic growth. The agreement covers the supply of advanced semiconductors, development of AI applications, building advanced AI infrastructure and national capabilities, and expanding high-value investments.

The partnership aims to boost productivity and innovation and generate both economic and social benefits, and advance economic relations between Saudi and American companies in future technologies and innovative solutions across key industries, including health, education, energy, mining and transportation.
