Saudi Date Production Reaches Over 1.9 Million Tonnes in 2024
Saudi Arabia achieved 119% self-sufficiency in date production, and is one of the world’s largest date producers and exporters.

The Ministry of Environment, Water and Agriculture has announced that local date production exceeded 1.9 million tonnes in 2024.
Dates continue to represent a key source of food security in the Kingdom. Saudi Arabia has achieved 119% self-sufficiency in date production and is one of the world’s largest date producers and exporters. In 2024, whilst imports were minimal, at 952 tonnes, exports and re-exports reached approximately 351,000 tonnes, highlighting the popularity of local Saudi dates.
