Saudi Explorer Badr Al-Shibani Elected to The Explorers Club in the US
The Saudi explorer joins the US-based institution following years of global expeditions such as the Seven Summits, crossing the Rub’ Al-Khali on foot, and undertaking a polar expedition in Antarctica.
Saudi explorer and entrepreneur Badr Al-Shibani has been elected an international member of The Explorers Club, a United States-based institution dedicated to exploration and field research.
Founded in New York in 1904, the organisation brings together scientists, explorers and astronauts engaged in advancing knowledge of Earth and beyond.
Al-Shibani’s election follows a series of expeditions across extreme environments. He completed the Seven Summits challenge, reaching the highest peak on each continent, including Mount Everest.
His fieldwork spans high-altitude mountain regions, polar and geological environments, as well as caving and expeditions to active volcanoes. His journeys also include crossing the Rub' al Khali desert on foot and undertaking a polar expedition in Antarctica, where he documented environmental and human challenges in extreme conditions.
In addition to his expeditions, Al-Shibani produces documentary films based on his journeys, focusing on environmental awareness and exploration.
