Schools to Dedicate First Class on March 8th to Armed Forces' Martyrs
As part of the initiative, schools will observe a moment of silence and play the Martyr’s Anthem throughout March 2025.
The Ministry of Education and Technical Education has instructed all public and private schools in Egypt to dedicate the first lesson on Saturday, March 8th, 2025, to honouring the martyrdom of Lieutenant General Abdel Moneim Riad. The lesson will focus on his legacy, the significance of sacrifice, and the role of the Egyptian Armed Forces.
As part of the initiative, schools will observe a moment of silence and play the Martyr’s Anthem throughout March 2025. This effort underscores the ongoing cooperation between the Armed Forces and the Ministry of Education in fostering national values among students.
March 9th is recognised as Martyr’s Day in Egypt in recognition of Lieutenant General Abdel Moneim Riad in 1969 during the War of Attrition against Israel at the Suez Canal, which was officially launched by President Gamal Abdel Nasser on March 8th, 1969.
