UAE Digital Visa Hub to Open in Beirut

The Federal Authority for Identity, Citizenship, Customs and Port Security is set to open an electronic visa issuance centre in Beirut, extending UAE digital government services beyond its borders. The centre is expected to open soon in the Lebanese capital and will be part of the authority’s network of overseas electronic visa centres, which currently stands at 18. According to the authority, the Beirut centre will process visas for tourism, medical treatment, study and employment. It will also provide on site biometric services covering fingerprinting, iris scans and facial imaging. Personal interviews will be conducted for work visa applicants. In addition to visa processing, the centre will offer document verification services for passports, medical reports and police clearance certificates. The centre’s technical systems have been upgraded and integrated with the UAE’s electronic visa platform to support faster processing, data accuracy and standardised procedures. The overseas centre in Beirut forms part of a plan to restructure and upgrade the UAE’s international electronic visa hubs. The initiative aligns with the wider digitisation of services and reduction of bureaucracy through integrated smart solutions, with the Beirut facility enabling applicants to complete all UAE visa procedures from within Lebanon.
