Weather Alerts Issued as Heavy Rain & Floods Forecast Across Saudi
Authorities have issued warnings for heavy rain, thunderstorms and potential flash flooding across several Saudi regions.
The National Center for Meteorology has issued weather warnings for thunderstorms and heavy rainfall expected to affect several regions across the Kingdom, raising the risk of flash floods in low-lying and valley areas.
According to official forecasts, the affected regions include Makkah, Madinah, Riyadh, Qassim, Eastern Province, Asir, Al-Baha, Jazan and Najran, where moderate to heavy rain is expected to be accompanied by strong winds, reduced visibility, and possible hail.
Civil Defence authorities advised residents and travellers to avoid valleys, flood-prone areas and open terrain until December 18th, 2025, and to follow official guidance as weather conditions develop. Emergency teams remain on standby to respond to any incidents linked to rainfall or runoff.
