You Can Soon Learn Italian as a Second Language in Public Schools
Italian will be introduced as an elective second language in public schools starting from 7th grade.
The Ministry of Education and Technical Education announced that Italian will be introduced as an elective second language in public preparatory schools across Egypt.
The initiative will be implemented starting from the 2024/2025 academic year. The decision was made after a meeting between Minister of Education Reda Hegazy and Italian ambassador Michele Quaroni, where they signed an MOU enacting the agreement.
The move is a part of the long-standing partnership between Italy and Egypt, which is represented by the Italian Don Bosco schools and the technological education institutes such as Fayoum and Abu Ghaleb. The partnership aims to enhance cultural ties and promote greater understanding between the two nations.
This decision is also part of a broader initiative to enhance middle school education by allowing students to learn several foreign languages, including French and German.
