Dutch Rower’s Nile Expedition Showcases Egypt’s Heritage
A week-long rowing adventure from Beni Suef to Cairo promotes Egypt’s natural beauty and cultural heritage.
Renowned Dutch rower Rob van der Aar has embarked on a week-long expedition along the Nile River, rowing from Beni Suef to Cairo. Part of the Rowing for Egypt 2024 project, the journey highlights Egypt’s natural and cultural heritage while promoting sustainable tourism and the preservation of the Nile.
The expedition is sponsored by the Ministry of Tourism and Antiquities’ Tourism Promotion Authority, in collaboration with the Embassy of the Netherlands, Magdi Yacoub Heart Foundation, Aspire Company, and other organisations.
The initiative aligns with ongoing efforts by the Ministry of Transport and the Ministry of Tourism to enhance Nile tourism. Such efforts include doubling floating hotel capacity, upgrading docks and diversifying offerings to enrich the visitor experience.
