Egyptian University Students Get One Year of Google AI Plus for Free

Egyptian university students aged 18 and above can register for one year of free access to Google’s AI Plus subscription under a joint initiative by the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Google. Registration remains open until December 31st, 2026, with the annual plan valued at around EGP 3,000.

The programme, titled One Million Egyptian Students Create with Gemini, is designed to expand the use of artificial intelligence in education, research and innovation. Eligible students receive access to Google’s Gemini AI assistant and Gemini Notebook, formerly known as NotebookLM, which can be used to summarise lecture notes and textbooks, prepare for exams and support research. The package also includes image and short-video generation tools and 400GB of cloud storage.

Training sessions will be held throughout the year at universities across Egypt to promote responsible use of AI tools. Gemini Notebook also offers audio and interactive summaries, including summaries of books of up to 200 pages.

Google is additionally offering students discounts of up to 75% on Google AI Pro, alongside a separate bundle combining Google AI Pro and YouTube Premium at a 70% discount. The initiative follows a similar student offer launched in Egypt last year and has now been extended to other Arab countries including Algeria, Morocco, Iraq and Jordan.
