The conference is mainly being held for the ‘East Port Said Industrial Zone’, a 16 million square metre zone in the northern end of the Suez Canal Special Economic Zone.
Port Said will host its largest economic forum to date on September 16th and September 17th, as part of a larger plan to develop the governorate’s industrial potential as a global investment destination. The conference is mainly being held for the ‘East Port Said Industrial Zone’, a 16 million square metre zone in the northern end of the Suez Canal Special Economic Zone.
With a total of four industrial zones, six sea ports, three port operators, Port Said has massive economic opportunity. Currently, Port Said is building a number of factories that will provide 80,000 job opportunities within the pharmaceutical industry, as well as the leather and shoe production market. Over EGP 18 billion has been pumped into developing its industrial zones, including the creation of five tunnels to facilitate the circulation of goods.
The forum hopes to market and promote Port Said’s industrial zone projects to international businesses and economic figures, and attract investors to the projects. The forum was initially meant to be held in March 2020, but was postponed due to the restrictions brought about by the COVID-19 pandemic.
