Actor Ahmed Hatem and the United Nations High Commissioner for Refugees (UNHCR) are back on the road with their food delivery charity initiative, Arabiyet Elkheir. The ‘Car of Good’ first hit the streets during Ramadan 2020, when the start of the COVID-19 pandemic kept entire families locked down and out of work. Throughout the month, Arabiyet Elkheir brought 4,000 hot Iftar meals to refugees and asylum seekers in Nasr City, 6th of October city and Faisal, with help from Uber and Venture Lifestyle, as well as a host of volunteers and local food companies.
Arabiyet Elkheir makes its comeback this year alongside a slew of other charitable initiatives from UNHCR, including a charity drive to help feed refugee families through UNHCR’s official website, https://giving.unhcr.org/ramadan/.
