Dubai Mall Welcomes a Record Number of Visitors
The high performance of the world’s largest retail destination is, according to some, a sign of Dubai’s strong economy.
The world’s largest mall just saw its largest number of visitors, a statistic that is only expected to grow. Dubai Mall welcomed 150 million shoppers in 2023, a 19% increase from 88 million visitors in 2022. Early into 2024, it looks like the shopping centre will have no trouble sustaining these numbers, welcoming 20 million visitors in the first two months of 2024 alone.
Featuring more than 1,200 retail stores, hundreds of food options, an aquarium, an ice rink and even a massive Chinatown, this colossal mall is an attraction for tourists and locals alike. The 12 million square foot retail hub is run by property developer Emaar. According to mall leadership, the high number of visitors at the shopping centre are an indicator of Dubai’s economic strength.
