Emirati Men’s Beach Soccer Team Ranked 7th Best in the World
This is the highest the team has ever placed in the international beach soccer rankings.
The FIFA Executive Committee released its official ranking of Beach Soccer Teams, and the UAE scored a new achievement – the 7th place spot on the international leaderboard.
The Emirati team has never climbed so high in global rankings. This achievement comes after their strong showing in the Beach Soccer World Cup, which was held from February 15th to the 25th at the Dubai Design District Stadium. Sixteen teams played in this tournament, in which the Emirati team was the first Arab team to win all of the matches in its group stage, and also the first Arab team to qualify for the quarter finals.
Placing so highly in the international rankings, as well as hosting the Beach Soccer World Cup, puts the UAE on the forefront of this sport, which is currently led by Brazil, Italy and Portugal. This makes the UAE the highest-ranked Arab country in the world of beach soccer.
