First Phase of Saudi Program to Boost Jobs for Expats Completed
The platform aims to boost job opportunities for expats and raise the quality of services by verifying foreign qualifications.
The Ministry of Human Resources and Social Development has completed the first phase of the ‘Professional Verification’ service as part of the ‘Professional Certification’ program in Saudi Arabia. This is a step forward in providing jobs for qualified expats in the Kingdom, and covers 128 countries.
The program is a collaboration with the Ministry of Foreign Affairs on a unified electronic platform, which is fully automated for a simple and rapid professional verification process.
The new initiative aligns with Cabinet Resolution No. 195, which aims to ensure that expatriate workers entering the Kingdom hold authentic academic qualifications, and possess the required experience dictated by the Saudi labour market.
The focus of the program is highly-skilled professionals, and seeks to verify the compatibility of the academic qualification with the educational level and field in line with approved standards of measure like the Unified Saudi Classification of Professions, and the Unified Saudi Classification of Educational Levels and Specialties.
The ministries aim to include 160 countries worldwide, and to prevent underqualified expatriate workers from entering the Saudi labour market. This will hopefully raise the quality of services and enhance productivity.
