As part of an extended country-wide takeover campaign to bring the essence of the Squid Game series to Saudi Arabia, passengers at Terminal 1 at Jeddah Airport were interspersed by the iconic guards from the show.
The guards were seen throughout the entirety of the airport, collecting the show’s infamous ‘Red Light, Green light’ doll from baggage collection belts, wheeling it away on a luggage trolley, loading their vans and leaving the airport from the taxi area. Digital screens also showcased visuals from the series, plunging passengers into the world of ‘Squid Game’.
Following the period after this creative activation of the series in the airport, the guards appeared everywhere across the Kingdom, their presence turning heads in Dammam, Abha, AlUla and Riyadh.
Streaming platforms Subscription Video On-Demand (SVOD) and Over-the-Top (OTT) collaborated with JCDecaux ATA, as well as Dubai and Riyadh-based independent advertising agency Science and Sunshine, to execute this screen-to-life activation, marking the release of ‘Squid Game’s’ second season on Netflix.
