Authorities in Abu Dhabi have confirmed that two people were killed and three others injured after debris from an intercepted ballistic missile fell on Sweihan Street.
In a statement posted on X, the Abu Dhabi Media Office said the incident occurred following the successful interception of a missile by air defence systems. The falling debris also caused damage to a number of vehicles.
Authorities said the victims have not yet been identified, adding that further updates will be provided in due course. Officials also urged the public to rely on official sources and avoid spreading unverified information.
The incident comes amid heightened regional tensions, as ongoing conflict involving Iran, Israel, and the United States continues to impact security across the Gulf.
