Alt Orient Debuts Live Sessions at Istanbul's Yedikule Fortress
The series kicked off with Turkish artist Netam’s ‘Live @Yedikule’, an electro-funky album with Anatolian influences.
Turkish producer and multi-instrumentalist Netam has recently premiered his debut live album, ‘Live @Yedikule’, on YouTube, recorded at one of the seven towers of the fortress of Yedikule – one of Istanbul’s most historic locations. The performance was the first of Levant-based label Alt Orient Live Sessions series.
The video sees Netam performing his arrangements with live instruments, swiftly transitioning from keyboards to trumpets, translating his feelings into electro-funky grooves. ‘Live @Yedikule’ places Netam’s skills as a live performer and his delicate yet sophisticated sound at the centre of attention.
The album offers a distinctive mix of electronic rhythms and Anatolian melodies, where Netam blends sweeping synths and organic instrumentations with sounds of everyday life to craft vibrant psychedelic textures.
It’s melodically rich in an ambient and emotional way, and as we reach the end of the performance, the sound becomes so abrasive that the fortress gets lost in latent shadows.
The album will be available as an audio on all streaming platforms on August 23rd.
