There's Going to Be 48% More Natural Gas-Powered Cars in 2022
In that time, 82,000 new cars that use natural gas as fuel will also be available in Egypt.
The Ministry of Petroleum and Mineral Resources has reported an increase in the number of cars being converted to natural gas in Egypt, with a projected 48% jump by the end of 2022. In that time, 82,000 new cars that use natural gas as fuel will also be available in Egypt.
Initiatives to encourage the use of natural gas vehicles have been revving up, especially in the lead-up to the COP27 United Nations Climate Change Conference. About 1,000 natural gas stations were built across all of Egypt's governorates earlier this year, while the government rolled out financial incentives to let people convert their petrol-powered cars into natural gas-powered cars. In Sharm El Sheikh in particular, where COP27 will take place, 300 natural gas-powered buses and electric buses will be used to transport delegations taking part in the conference.
