WORD: Laï - Färägh
With her introspective lyrics and existentialist themes, Cairo-Based Lebanese singer Laï walks us through her latest single, ‘Färägh’.

In this episode, Cairo-based Lebanese artist Laï walks us through the lyrics behind her hard-hitting single ‘Färägh’. Behind the track’s catchy production and air-tight flows, Laï’s lyrics address darker topics of existentialism and dissatisfaction, as she sings about befriending the all-too-familiar void we feel at our lowest moments.
Through her unique songwriting style, Laï chooses to write in-character, creating a fictionalised version of herself to express her contemplative thoughts and emotions. This was also seen in her previous EP, ‘Digital’, where the artist explored this approach in depth.
