Dubai Leads Global Tourism With Record Hotel Occupancy in November
Amadeus has reported a record-breaking number of global tourists visiting Dubai in November.
According to Amadeus, a database focused on the global travel industry, Dubai achieved the highest hotel occupancy rates among major cities worldwide in November 2024, recording an overall rate of 84.6% for the month. The peak days, November 6th and the 7th, saw occupancy levels soar to 92.5% and 91.5%, respectively, while the first two weeks of the month consistently achieved high rates.
The city played host to several major events during November, drawing business professionals, thought leaders, and cultural enthusiasts from around the globe. Highlights included the Gulfood Manufacturing exhibition, a key platform for innovation in the food and beverage industry, and the Big 5 exhibition, which brought together experts from the construction and building sectors. Meanwhile, the Dubai Future Forum offered insights into cutting-edge technologies, and the Global Women’s Forum - Dubai 2024 fostered discussions on gender equality and leadership.
Dubai’s hospitality infrastructure has also kept pace with the growing demand. The number of hotel rooms in the city increased from around 149,000 in 818 establishments in October 2023 to over 152,500 rooms across 827 establishments by October 2024.
International tourism in Dubai continues to flourish, with the city welcoming approximately 14.96 million visitors in the first ten months of 2024, an 8% increase from the same period in 2023, when 13.9 million tourists arrived.
