Cairo University to Open EGP 3.4 Billion Medical Complex for Children

Cairo University is going to establish a massive medical complex for children in the university’s 6th of October branch. Scheduled for opening in 2025, the complex will serve as a second arm of the paediatric hospitals in Kasr Al-Aini, and will be built at a cost EGP 3.4 billion.


Spanning 70,000 square metres, able to hold more than 300 beds, intensive care beds and nurseries, the complex will consist of six buildings. It will include a main hospital, a hotel for patients’ families, a training centre and nursing institute, staff housing, and two service buildings.


The complex will also include 44 outpatient clinics for all paediatric specialties, an integrated radiology department, laboratories, an ER department, dialysis department, physiotherapy department, central pharmacy, and clinical pharmacy. Last but not least, the complex will also hold two major lecture halls and eight classrooms for its trainees.
