New National Database of Egyptian Children Under Development
The Ministry of Social Solidarity’s new database will help address the needs of children across Egypt.
Nov 05, 2022
The Ministry of Social Solidarity is developing a database that will keep track of all children across Egypt, in partnership with the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology. The project is part of Egypt's move toward digitization and is set to include children whether they’re living with their parents or in orphanages.
As part of the ministry’s alternative care strategy for children launched last year, the database aims to protect vulnerable Egyptian children’s rights by profiling them, identifying their needs, and determining whether they need intervention and what kind.
