Egyptians Take Home Six Medals at Karate 1-Premier League
Egyptian karate champions brought home two silver medals and four bronze across six different events.
Egypt’s martial arts champions and up-and-coming karate kids made a respectable showing at the World Karate Federation’s Karate 1-Premier League in Lisbon, Portugal, bringing home two silver medals and four bronze across six different events.
Female athletes saw victories across the board as Yasmin Attia won the silver medal for Female Kumite in the Under 55 KG category, while Giana Lotfy won the second silver medal for Female Kumite in the Under 61 KG category and Feryal Abdelaziz scored a bronze medal for Female Kumite in the Under 68 KG category. Meanwhile, Egypt’s female national team - which includes Toka Hesham, Noha Amr, and Asmaa Magdy - collectively earned the bronze medal in the Female Team Kata event.
Male karate champions also showed the world their chops as Abdalla Abdelaziz took home the bronze for Male Kumite in the Under 75 KG category, while Ali Elsawy won the bronze medal for Male Kumite in the Under 67 KG category.
