Ministry of Education Releases Details of Restrictions on 2020/2021 School Year
The Ministry of Education has just revealed what the 2020/2021 academic year will look look for Egyptian school students amidst Covid-19.
As school is almost back in session, the Ministry of Education has revealed a massive set of new rules to be implemented in all schools nationwide to keep students safe from the Coronavirus. There's a lot of big changes going on here. Here’s what you need to know:
- International schools will commence classes on September 15th, while national schools will begin October 17th
- Private tutoring sessions will be stopped
- Classes are to be administered partly online, with online learning platforms to be introduced for national students
- A new class on ethics will be introduced
- Students above the fourth grade will attend physical classes 2-to-3 days a week at alternating schedules, while third graders and below - including kindergartners - will attend classes 4 days a week
- High school final exams for seniors next June will be done electronically and will be derived from four modules, with anti-cheating measures to be put in place on online platforms
- High school students will have the option to retake some or all of their exams to improve their grades in August
