Pointe-à-Callière Museum Displays Over 300 Egyptian Artefacts

The Pointe-à-Callière Museum in Montreal is currently hosting an exhibition entitled ‘Egypt. Three Millennia on the Nile.’

The Pointe-à-Callière Museum, which is part of the Montréal Archaeology and History Complex, houses a large collection of artefacts that show how the French and British shaped the history of modern-day Montreal over the years.

The ‘Egypt. Three Millennia on the Nile’ exhibition features over 300 authentic artefacts from the collection of Museo Egizio in Turin, Italy. In an interview with Canadian channel CTV News, the Museum projects manager, Elisabeth Cote said, “They loved life so much that they wanted to continue for the afterlife, forever.” She then added, “About 40 percent of the production of objects on display was destined to the afterlife.”

The exhibition will run until October 15th.
