Fashion Mogul Christian Louboutin to Be Honoured for Luxor Mission

The World Monuments Fund - an initiative promoting efforts to protect cultural landmarks and monuments all throughout the world - is honouring Christian Louboutin (the man behind the famed red bottom heels) for his dedication to preserving cultural heritage. The French fashion mogul will be given the Hadrian Award for his outstanding contributions to the funding of the Colossi of Memnon mission in Luxor, which saw the excavation of 113 statues of the goddess Sekhmet and many ancient columns.

On October 22nd, during the World Monuments Summit - and prior to his honouring at the 33rd Hadrian Gala - Louboutin will participate in a discussion on Egypt, in which he will continue to amplify his deep appreciation for the country as well as spotlight the countless meaningful ways it has shaped his designs. Afterwards, the designer will host a gala at his Madison Avenue store, with a portion of the proceeds to be donated to the World Monument Fund.
