National Initiative Helps Children of Expats Return to Egypt Safely
The 'Good Offspring' and 'Reunion Unit' initiatives looks to protect children of Egyptian parents living abroad from any family issues by giving them a safe passage to Egypt.
The Ministry of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs has launched the ‘Good Offspring’ initiative in cooperation with the Reunion Unit in al-Azhar al-Sharif. In an effort to tackle obstacles faced by second and third generation Egyptians abroad, the initiative looks to protect children of Egyptian parents living abroad from any family issues by giving them a safe passage to Egypt.
“We seek to preserve the psychological health of our children abroad, stressing that their return to the homeland is important by making a family settlement to preserve the children from the factors that may lead them to crime and psychological instability,” Minister of Immigration and Egyptian Expatriate Affairs, Nabila Makram, announced in a statement. The initiative will help these children navigate the legal issues that may delay their return to Egypt, and ease the process as much as possible.
Those hoping to participate can register through www.azhar.eg/reunion or through the hotline number 19906 from 8 AM to 4 PM.
